No account, minimal data

MimicBox has no user accounts. The name and avatar you choose are stored in your browser and sent to the room you join so other players can see you.

Microphone and recordings

The microphone is only active during the recording window of each round. In solo mode, recordings are analyzed in your browser and never uploaded.

In a room, your take is sent to the game server to be relayed to the players of that room. Takes are stored temporarily with the room and deleted when the room closes, at the latest a few minutes after the last player leaves. They are never published, sold or used for any other purpose.

Hosting and analytics

The site and the game server are hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service. Audience measurement, when enabled, is cookieless and aggregated.

Local storage

Your name, avatar and a random player identifier are kept in the storage of your browser to let you reconnect to a room. You can erase them at any time by clearing the site data.
